You cannot avoid Brittany’s buckwheat galettes, accompanied by a “bolée” of cider from la Ferme des Landes!

Taste the iodine flavors of local fish cooked in our restaurants (mackerel, sardines, sole, seabass..), or seashell (Saint Jacques scallops, clams...). Experience the pleasure of fishing by yourself and eat the fish you caught , professional fishermen can teach you the art of sea fishing on their own boat (departure from the Port of Saint-Cast).

Oysters & mussels (so called 'moules de bouchots')

 

Shellfish Farming – Baie de l’Arguenon and Baie de La Fresnaye

Saint-Cast le Guildo is well known for its activity of shellfish farming, Taste our “moules de bouchots” (=mussels grown on a pile of wood) and our oysters..

With more than 56,000 metres of piles of wood and around 33 hectares of oysters parks in the Baie de l’Arguenon and Baie de la Fresnaye, Shellfish Farming is one of the main economic activities of Saint-Cast-le Guildo. .

The estuary of Arguenon is a mixture of saltwater and freshwater which is ideal for oysters and mussels: it creates a specific taste of iodine.

The oyster festival is held annually, every third weekend in June to honor and celebrate this resource.


The cider factory of the Ferme des Landes


Cidre BIO - Jus de Pommes - Vinaigre de cidre

Jehan Lefèvre elaborates in his laboratory cider, cider vinegar and apple juice. All products are guaranteed pure juice and are made from varieties of local apples.
